5 Things To Consider Before Buying A Juicer

Detoxing your body of harmful chemicals and preservatives in the things you eat isn't a complicated process. Juicing is a simple solution for using those organic fruits and vegetables you buy on a regular basis and turning them into a yummy and healthy drink. When you are trying to find the right juicer for you, you need to first remember that there is no such thing as a perfect juicer. Everyone has different needs and requirements, but there are plenty of them available on the market today so you should be able to find one that fits you.

Before you begin your search, you should make a note of the things you want or need from your juicer. This might be easier to keep track of if you write it down and actually make a list. There are many important features to consider, but some of these might not be as important to you as they are to someone else. Here is a short list of things and features to consider:

Juicer

1. Ease of cleaning. How important is it to you that it is dishwasher safe? For many, this is a deal-breaker if you have to hand wash everything every day you use it.

2. Noise level. This would be something that would be more of a preference, but not necessarily something needed to have one that doesn't make a lot of noise. You are going to have some noise, regardless of how much money you pay.

3. How fast the juicer grinds up the fruit and/or vegetables. This is an important point to consider. If it takes you twice as long to make the drink as it does to actually drink it, it might take the fun out of juicing.

4. Can it be used for both fruits and vegetables? Some people prefer only juicing their fruits, while others enjoy a mix of both. There are even some that prefer vegetables. What you need to know is, if you like both, can your juicer easily deal with both? There are few juicers that can actually grind both fruit and vegetables together because vegetables are much more fibrous. That simply means they are tough and harder to grind to achieve an optimum juice.

5. Can it handle all different kinds of fruits and vegetables? Even if you find a juicer that says it juices both fruits and vegetables, there may be certain foods that it can't do very well. For instance, juicing might be a problem for apples and plums with dealing with the skin and some citrus fruits can't be juiced at all without extra prep work. You need to make sure you find a juicer that grinds these up well enough into the juice if you plan on using these fruits.

There are several types of juicers available on the market. You should get familiar with the different types in order to find the one that suits you the most. The ones best suited for fruit only are manual press juicers and the single auger juicers. The one best suited for vegetables only are twin gear press juicers. The ones that are best suited for largest variety of fruits and vegetables are the centrifugal juicers, the dual stage single auger juicers, and the masticating juicers. Most of the masticating juicers are more rugged than the others.

Take this information, figure out your budget, do some more research, and you should then be able to find the perfect juicer for your needs in your home so you can use those healthy drinks to detox your body.
